I discovered something interesting today - I'm not a missing rib. I don't have to search just for ONE guy ( out of 70 billion people in the world) to whom i belong.
The good news is God doesn't have just ONE person out there for you. He has a few. He has created a handful of people whom he knows you would be happy spending your life with - but it's up to you to choose.
You need to exercise the gift he gave you - free will.
You also need to exercise responsibility over your life and find ways of meeting new people. Otherwise, you're stuck with very limited choices, some of whom might not be good for you.
When it comes to good things, God's will is much wider than we think. It's only when the choice is between good or bad that the path is narrow. Otherwise, when it comes to a choice between two goods, God is only happy for you to choose either.
The great thing is we're no longer spare ribs (as some women may think) but women who can think carefully and choose whom we want to spend the rest of our lives with.
Like the bible says, we're an enclosed garden. We choose whom we want to dwell in that garden.

A way to discover your charisms:
#1: You feel fully ALIVE within you
For instance, if you have the gift of teaching, you feel fully alive whenever you're up there sharing the word with someone. You're excited, passionate and fully awake within you. There is great satisfaction and joy in what you do.
#2: It has a SUPERNATURAL effect
A charism is not just a talent. It is not just something that you're good at. It must have a supernatural consequence. For instance - a preacher ministering to a congregation through the word of GOD, and someone gets healed or receives spiritual freedom - that in itself requires divine intervention.
This is the same for people who minister through music, prayer etc. The charism is used for the good of all man in co-operation with God.
#3: People have come up to thank you and AFFIRMED you for it
This in itself is the verifying factor - you don't just think you have it. Other people have actually thanked you for it or affirmed you for it. They can identify the charism in you because they have experienced the fruits of it.
Every girl has a dream within her heart. She is created with it by God.

Let's begin with me. I'm a twenty-something female searching for my direction. For as far as i can remember, I've always wanted to write. My first exploration of writing began with a tiny notebook and a pencil stuck in my hand, in my childhood days. I would sneak into the playground, hidden behind my school, during recess. And there in the privacy of my hideout, I would write - raw, uncrafted words that would express my young burning frustrations - in the form of a poem.
Having lived for a quarter of a century now, reality has taken a toll on my imagination. Nonetheless, I have kept an assortment of diaries and a series of blogs over the years, but none that satisfy my addiction. Still, I find myself writing again. Up at night and late into the wee hours of the morning...
For what? It is a mystery.
I believe God has imprinted within each of our hearts a blueprint for our calling. But we are unaware of it. For me, discovery begins with a realisation of an emptiness and hence, a searching or longing for something. Our gifts are but hints of our design - lamps to show the way.
I believe I am created to write. But 'why' is unknown to me.
